I don't know how old you are, but I agree. We lived on a lake in Michigan and once you got your license the bicycle never left the garage. I do remember friends sharing rides to the burger joint and movies.

A Semi-Truck hauling grosing 80,000 will get around 7 MPG not counting idel time while off duty at truck stops. Trucks on idle use abut 1 gal per hour. Hope that helps some.
