This is old news!! Until it hits $35-$40 a barrel, there's no reason to celebrate. The global market is just adjusting to the lower demand while production continues to increase the reserve supplies. When OPEC convenes their meeting next week, we'll see them decrease their production quotas in order to stabilize oil prices. This translates into higher prices in the very near future for gas, heating fuel, food and anything else that is produced or transported with oil.

Unfortunately, this takes pressure off the libs in government to open new areas for drilling. We'll pay big-time when global demand increases again.

$2.40 per Gal., is that for Reg in NYC? I just filled up at the lowest rate per Gal. I can remember in a long time at $1.76 a Gal for Reg in Marietta GA. I am just tickled to fill my tank for just $10.61 this week. I remember filling my tank for over $30.00 a week not so long ago.

What makes this not good are the people who have reverted back to poor driving habits and wasteful practice just because the cost of fuel is down... they were the loudest screams at the pump in the summer, and with the shortest memories and weakest resolve, they will eventually pay the highest price.
The rest of us need to actively seek alternatives to oil, especially for transportation... a clean diesel as an interim, maybe, but I am looking beyond that to NO OIL, and a very very low overall carbon footprint

I'd be most grateful if the oil prices would level out at $50/barrel for a while. It's taking me less than half of what it did just 2 months ago to fill up, but it's going to take more than 2 months to catch up on our budget on what we paid out all summer.

CONTRACT EMPLOYEES AND LOOK AT THE JOB THEY HAVE DONE!

Ah yes, good ole bureaucracy and now we are going to turn the Banking

I know these prices may not last so I am enjoying every tankful. I do hope they settle in the $2.50s or so for a while when this current slide is over. It would feel good to fill up and not feel like I was being bent over the oil industry's derrick . . .
